Yes parliament will become a fish market with all the MPs doing battle with each other. It may be entertaining and make for good TV and soundbites but tell me who is going to spend time solving the country's problems and planning for the long term?

That's exactly the problem with the NZ parliament. They spend the whole session arguing, showboating and debating the most trivial of matters and because of this, the country remains stagnant. No long term plans are ever executed because all infrastructure projects end up politicised and buried in red tape.

If Singapore ends up in the same boat, the country is finished.
