I say the next opposition who gets voted in propose some REAL and TANGIBLE benefits we can all SEE!

This is just my humble proposal, maybe some real fighter (maybe GMS) can bring it to fruition.

1) I say we lobby the Govt to match, (in percentage terms) the amount of CPF that’s utilized to purchase CPF LIFE annuity plans. I say the current payout of $400+ (based on a minimum sum holding of $40,000) to be definitely too miserly. Do you really expect a retiree to survive on that? It’s not even enough to buy toiletries!

2) If the Govt matches, say 50% of the min sum left over, the monthly payout should be increased to around $600+, that’s at least more decent a sum.

3) This would also defintely encourage more members, especially self employed citizens to contribute deligently to their CPF retirement fund.

So far about 40,000 members have locked in their CPF for the LIFE plans, to the amount of $2b.

I dare say with the billions Temasek and GLCs are making (last value for Temasek was at $186b, with profits of close to $5b), I think we ought to see some real payback to these elderly citizens! After all, those funds that GLCs are using are their money, their tears and sweat!!!

Weren’t they the ones who sacrificed the most during the nation’s formative days??
