China and Hongkong both need each other. the latter def more. their name-calling and tensions are over culture, values and livelihood issues, not deeper issues like race or religion. it wouldn't become a political hotspot.
both sides just need to understand and love each other more then everything can be resolved amicably.
Cultures, values, and livelihood issues are just as important as issues of race and religion, if not more so. It would not have become a political hotspot if the PRCs practise the principle of "When in another's lair (land, in this case), respect him or else do not go there". There must be a good reason why the Chinese are despised in many parts of the world. The Chinese should do some self-reflection instead of continuing to be ungracious and arrogant just because China is now a powerful nation.
