Think he won a hurdles gold for China in Athens 2004, first Chinese athlete ever to win a track-and-field gold, but withdrew from Beijing 2008.

He knew he could not win the gold medal in the last olympics, which means he will lose all his advertisements and endorsements, so he faked injury and dropped out. His coach was faking it too and cried like a baby in the press conference.

Now he wants to come back and have another round of advertisements and endorsements again.

I spoke to a PRC during the closing ceremony of the last olympics and he said that Liu Xiang will never have a comback because to the PRCs, doing the right thing at the right time/occasion is very important. He failed to do that so he will not be given another chance again.

I have a different view as he is still the fastest 110m hurdler in China so the spotlight will still be on him and he and his CCB coach will make use of the media to make $$$ for themselves again.

Anyway, there nothing to be proud of as a Chinese. Just like in the case of Bruce Lee or Yang Ming. So what if a Chinese martial artiste could bash up caucasians consistently? Most Chinese still can't. So what if a Chinese basketball player could outplay many caucasian or negroid players? Most Chinese still can't. And here, the word "most" means more than 1 billion of Chinese. Keep on harping on Bruce Lee or Yang Ming, but still got bashed and outplayed by a a few million caucasians and negroids.
