AFTER reading "In conversation with MM Lee" (May 27), I bought a copy of the book, Conversations with Lee Kuan Yew by Tom Plate.
Often, "keyboard warriors" - hiding behind pseudonyms - use the Internet to make derogatory statements against MM Lee, some labelling him "a tyrant". I urge them to buy the book. Would a tyrant say what he said? "Tom, the book will have to have critical and negative stuff in it. I know, don't worry about me. Just write me up exactly as you see me. Let the chips fall where they may. Tell the true story of me, as you see it. That's all I ask."
Such a statement would have only passed from the mouth of a gracious person who knows himself well.
