LHL visits Brunei and reminisnces about his time in Arty

Can't believe him manpacking all that hardware..the 50 kg. each of baseplate, barrel..

Shit, I dont even think he could carry the section's eight rifles on a crash move.

When he joined, they changed the rules..no manpacking & the 122mm mortar became a towed battalion, & Arty started converting to the 133 Howitzer. He was just a Technical Officer...with was it 23 SA, the rest is STATE secrets... sensitive materials..

According to his FB, he said,

The Singapore Artillery has transformed itself beyond recognition. I remember fondly my time in the formation. The 120mm mortar was our main weapon, and we manually plotted firing data on charts, using rulers and protractors. Today, we have a high-tech force of sensors, shooters and systems, operated by highly-trained Gunners, integrated into the 3G SAF. I wish the Singapore Artillery every success for the future! Once a Gunner, Always a Gunner! - LHL

That is not true. His 24th FATAB was then at Taman Jurong. Chief of Arty was Col Gill. My batch was after his. We still manpacked, towed the damn goods at Kangaw. Bloody camp terrain was up and down, like Changi golf course! The bloody carriage was nearly 300 kgs!

I remember clearly, when he was in..they stopped the manpacked..122mm was slowly converted to the Howitzer...if you would remember..you would know his successor Col.Chan...

maybe they stopped for him, but when I was in Arty Wing at Taman Jurong, the fucking cpls made us man-pack during trg and tactical move. When we moved to kangaw, they were still doing it. I think after our batch did they finally stopped, and went on to the 155 gun. Btw, it's a 120 calibre, not 122. Tampalla. and I wasnt in FATAB.

There was also some attempts to mount the bloody mortar on a jeep, which caused the nuts and bolts to drop like dogs' balls everytime they fired the damn thingy. Eventually, the idea evolved to a self-propelled mortar. Anyway, it was overtaken by the 155 as the Bn sp wpn, and the 120 relegated to a Coy sp wpn. So the infantry guys suffered.

That is why Ah Loong be made Field Marshallissimo.
The first ever on Earth to be made Field Marshallissimo.
Just like his father the first ever Senior Mentor Minister Emeratus, the only one in the world.

And with the Fieldmarshallissimo, award himself a money no objection Victoria Cross crafted of Platinum and Gold and diamonds and rubies to outshine the kuching kurad Victoria Cross made from bronze or gun metal.

Everyone will respect Ah Loong especially if he wear John Lennon outfit used in Sgt Peppers.

LONG LIVE AH LOONG FIELDMARSHALLISSIMO
