By Julia Ng | Posted: 01 June 2012

SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Law will get a new Permanent Secretary from July 1.

He is Dr Beh Swan Gin, currently the managing director of the Economic Development Board.

Also with effect from July 1, the current Permanent Secretary for Law, Mr Pang Kin Keong, will be appointed as the Transport Ministry's Permanent Secretary -- a position presently held by Mr Choi Shing Kwok.

Mr Choi will be appointed as Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Environment and Water Resources.

LG(NS) Desmond Kuek will relinquish his appointment as Permanent Secretary (Environment and Water Resources) on July 1 and will leave the Administrative Service on September 30.

In a media release, the Public Service Division said having given many years of sterling service to the government, including as chief of Defence Force leading the Singapore Armed Forces and as Permanent Secretary, LG(NS) Kuek is leaving to explore new opportunities in the private sector in a career change.
