When they made policies they got useless and ignorant people who believed their fake paper degrees made them great scholars who did not calculate in details issues over different time frames. Ten year series problems to them, they fucked up and now are fucking it up with 10 year series solutions. It is seriously collapsing. I don't see any unravelling. I see excellent policies that have made Singapore one of the richest nations on earth.

Spoken by a person who understand dictators and aristocrats. Everyone else is too stupid, naggy and intelligence is defined as being an elite. The rest are dumb. All elite policies are right it is just that stupid people cannot see it. As long as policies enrich the elite, usually at the expense of all others to maximize gains, it is the best policy.
Even if dams are bursting, it is fine and when it hits it is unforeseen but since the elite tells you officially, suddenly the elites are prescient. Elites are so great they should go to another island and run it by themselves with only elites and machines. I am sure they can be the top nation in the world. I'm passing judgement from the vantage point of a neutral observer who is not caught up by the rhetoric of a lunatic lynch mob who thinks that everything the PAP does is bad and that if some opposition party takes over, the solution to all of Singapore's problems will be implemented overnight.

All governments have their flaws. No govt in the world gets everything right all the time. However, I have to point out that the PAP is right far more often than it is wrong and they have succeeded in turning an unlikely country into one of the success stories of the world.

The problems of overcrowding and a few MRT breakdowns pale in comparison the misery that will result from a stagnant economy, falling currency values and real estate prices and a jobless rate of 10% or more which what will happen if an incompetent government takes over.

I started the site in order to sing praises of the PAP so it is a pro PAP site. Even the slogan "celebrating singapore's golden period" has a distinctly pro PAP ring.

I have no illusions that if an opposition takes over tomorrow, it will be a mess, as the whole machinery was create to ingratiate Leegime. The bureaucracy, legal system has never been able to think independently under the current Leegime and to ask them to do this tomorrow is impossible. However, too many problems have been swept under the table and musical chairs to new positions has been a way to escape scrutiny since retrospective responsibility is not taken into account. a stagnant economy, falling currency values and real estate prices and a jobless rate of 10% or more is certainly not enjoyable. Some of our neighbouring countries can never succeed because of geographical problems (too many islands) in addition to linguistic and cultural baggage. It is impossible for the current goondus in Leegime to change. The only other way is to seriously hire foreign consultants to do the job properly and throw the trash out in the real open market. There is also a need to dismantle SOEs. LTK suffers no illusions. I do not know CSJ personally, though it is clear he cannot run a country.
Cut off the 10s of thousands of useless scholars. If they are good, they float. If high pay is proclaimed to stop corruption, then some scholars should stay in certain positions and fields longer to amass the necessary experience and to execute better plans. There is too much pork barrel dealings. This is the cancer within Leegime. Also, sucking up to Leegime has allowed some of the worst inefficient parasites to grow from grassroots and PA organizations. Time to chop them and open a more efficient playing field.

No contradiction whatsoever. A neutral observer is entitled to pick a winner and a loser. That's what judges do on a regular basis.

The winner in my books is the PAP.

That was the exact PAP mentality in 2006 when they thought Aljunied was just an outlier and a 66.6% vote share was proof that Singaporeans won't rock the boat even if disgruntled or upset. So they did a 7% GST, opened the floodgates to foreign trash, locked up the CPF for good, continued to talk down to people. Three consecutive shocks in 2011, 2012 and 2013 have sent a shockwave. The 5000 Hong Lim turnout is just the beginning. As long as the 6.9 million figure stays, they will lose more and more ground.
