Everytime I look at our national football team I feel embarrassed to answer why our team look nothing like the 75% Singaporean-Chinese dominant majority, the funny thing is even the Malays, Indian, Caucasian in this team come from overseas not Singapore.

We Singaporeans can never compete with other Asian like Japan, S.Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China.

Because we have neither cultural or technological contribution

One may think Chinese are not good in football but what about the Chinese in China. Their football team is better than Malaysia or Singapore. So it is not that Chinese cannot play football, Singaporean Chinese just don't want to sweat it out in the hot sun. Singapore cannot produce talents. Even when the Singaporean team back than had 1/3 of ethnic Chinese players + 2/3 Malay and Indian players they still could not compete with the 100% ethnic Chinese HK players.

Hong Kong was historically a 3rd place winner and semi-finalists in AFC asia cup. Singapore had only ever qualified once in the AFC reaching and cannot advance further than the group stages.


Even the 3 olympic medals ( 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Broze ) in Hong Kong were won by local HK people while Singapore medals came from foreign talents.




To put it simply. Hong Kong is superior to Singapore
