Lee Hsien Loong's stellar military career

CPT (NS) BRANDON

Lee Hsien Loong was born in 1952.

Enlisted in SAF as a Recruit in 1971.

Disrupted his OCS training and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1971.

Went to Cambridge on a President's Scholarship and graduated in 1974. Returned to SAF as a Lieutenant.

He was then promoted to Brigadier General in 1983 (he also disrupted to do a Masters degree at Harvard in 1980).

Basically he served 8 years of active service in the SAF, in which time he was promoted from Lieutenant to BG (that's six ranks).

The ranks of CPT to COL all have two grades each. Meaning that he was promoted NINE times in eight years.

Truly a military legend - I can't think of a General with a record this stellar. Patton, Pershing, Mountbatten, McArthur and Powell are all left trailing in his wake.

He was promoted to BG after the Sentosa cable car incident. The PAPpy press painted him as the hero for weeks. What did he really do? Nothing. He risked the lives of SAF soldiers to rescue the trapped when there were other alternatives that didn't need to risk more lives. Fortunately for him, no rescuer died.

Then he was made out to be an economic genius when he led a panel to restructure the economy. He got all the glory while the ideas came from the panel.

If you are from the first family, you will always get the credit for success and no blame for failures.

I have to correct you there - SAF scholars can get promoted while overseas studying. Its common. However did you also note that he spent less than 3 years in command of the ground troops (the rest was spent in MINDEF behind a desk)? A true high flyer..... fly so high until cannot see the ground level

Fortunately for him, no rescuer died.

Fortunately for LHL, there was an Australian Lieutanant who was training SAF chopper pilots at that time, who volunteered for the task and flew the rescue chopper - all our Chief of Air Force and other fuckers never rose to the occasion.

On another note, can you imagine KEE CHIU standing up to fight for the country? I can imagine the enemy wouldn't find it hard to shoot that clumsy fucktard. I had a good non-scholar Captain in OCS. Good guy, but chinese copter. He said "as an officer your fire movement must be good, don't fcuking get killed". Don't think clumsy KEE CHIU can survive that. That's why they promoted him so fast away from the ground troops

the outcome of all his military and ministerial career is what old fart planned and old fart is retiring well in his palace, Istana and still get paid chap gor cheng every month for doing nothing.

If this first son of his is not tailor made to be PM, regardless if he is competent and PM quality, old fart will be told to f** off from the Istana ground to live somewhere.

These people do not have fathers that are 'god status' even though one is of royal blood, if not, from birth the will be commissioned Rear Admiral, Generals...

You argue, they will tell you its based on meritocracy...but married to or born to...

We had to stand and wave the singapore flag in some army camp because this fella was quiting the forces to go into politics.
The whole camp stood around the streets and waved the flag given to us.
After that we returned the flag and continued with the obstacle course with FBO.

Oh ya hor....because to make him look good the prostitute media spawn an entire series on 'the day it rained on our parade'

You think he suffered when it 'rained on our parade', like we lesser mortals do?. How many of us have suffered through parades, National Day ones too, never mind it doesn't rain, when it rains, who suffer??

There will be more of these pictures of , "one of us"...lovey dovey family, eating out in hawker's center & soon...each of then have only a tin of biscuits to eat a week...but the cookies from Mark & Spenser or flown from Harrold's, or maybe skin the fish & cook congee...but the fish is Blue Fin Tuna...so poor thing, these people.. ha ha ha ha

He is also an SAF Overseas Merit Scholar. He was given two scholarships, the President's Scholarship and the SAF Overseas Merit Scholarship at the same time to study for one course!

From Wikipedia: In 1971, he was awarded a President's Scholarship and Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Scholarship by the Public Service Commission to study mathematics at Trinity College, University of Cambridge.
