Lazy Qing barbarians used war technique developed by Hokkien hero for two centuries and never thought of upgrading it to keep up with the times

可惜的是，清廷只让这支军队卖命，不给这支军队升级装备，最后在镇压太平天国时，葬送在慈禧之手。这支军队名叫「藤牌兵」，是由郑成功创建并精心训练的特种兵。郑成功收復台湾时，为对付荷兰军的鸟枪兵，郑成功训练这支军队。训练前，郑成功命人将上等软韧的藤条以油浸透，然后编成盾牌。这种盾牌被油浸透，又相对柔软，可挡箭矢和鸟枪子弹。盾牌直径数尽，士兵倦缩可护全身。

训练时，士兵一手藤牌一手持片刀，片刀刃薄如蝉翼，既软韧又灵活。士兵以藤牌护身，在地上翻滚，瞬间至敌人阵前，砍马腿，削敌足，以迅雷不及掩耳之势击败敌军。而敌人的弓箭、鸟枪对藤牌兵完全不起作用，枪虽发但不能命中，想再发，藤牌兵已至近前。郑成功收復台湾时，藤牌兵始终作为突击队冲锋在前。

The war technique was developed by hokkien hero Zheng chenggong and successfully used to kick out Dutch bastards ending their Taiwan occupation. Basically it’s a war technique based on speed and bamboo shield that could withstand the bullets THEN.

And this war technique was then adopted by Qing to successfully kick out Russians etc, starting with the Hokkien Elite Force set up then from the disbanded Zheng army after he died and his descendants surrendered to Qing.

Lazy Qing barbarians continue to ride on the coat tails of hokkien achievements from 16xx to 18xx for 180 years using the same war technique without any improvement and get almost wiped out by angmohs with better bullets during opium war and eventually all dead. Two centuries of riding on hokkien coat tails indeed hahaha

Can I point out that Koxinga is half Japanese?

Plus while I'm sure he was a great warrior and commander, like all his contemporaries, he was also a butcher and plunderer par excellence. For an example, see the siege of Fort Zeelandia and what both sides did to the other. I cannot in good conscience call most of the famous people in history heroes.

Ya his mother was Japanese. And anyone that fought invasion and kicked out foreigner bastards like what Zheng chenggong did to end Dutch 38 years occupation of Taiwan fit the definition of hero to a T.
