Twelve people were wounded late Thursday during clashes between supporters of rival Kurdish parties competing in the forthcoming Kurdish parliamentary elections in the northern Iraqi city of Sulaimaniya, medical sources said.
The clashes occurred when supporters of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the opposition party Gorran (Change) pelted each others with stones and bottles at an election campaign rally in Sulaimaniya city, a stronghold of the PUK, witnesses said.
