Seems odd. Unless the wrong baby was handed over to baby at birth, the mummy would spot the it when they handed the baby over at time of tdischarge. Mother can tell after a few hours of bonding and looking at the features. Interesting case.

You are correct. Research overseas in which mothers were asked to indentify their newborns on a monitor screen, a very high proportion were able to identify correctly which was their baby from a number of choices. Here, the babies were one day old, and their mothers were even unaware of their situation. And of course they cried when they heard the news - more out of shame/loss of face than with the hospital.

Reminds me of an incident when I visited some relative who had just given birth at hospital. Next bed, the baby brown binya but parents chinese..... nurses, drs and us dare not look..... husband macham blur !!
