too bad i won't be around to show you the best dining places, but here are some tips. besides the crustacean and crab restaurant in sf, here are my favorites:

french formal - french laundry in yountville, bestest in the west
french casual - bistro jeanty and bistro bouchon in yountville, 2nd and 3rd best in the west
french american - the girl and the fig in sonoma
italian - postino in lafayette, stinky rose in sf
chinese - mayflower in milpitas
dim sum - koi garden in serramonte (san bruno), mayflower in milpitas
indian - shalomar in fremont
viet pho - pho saigon in milpitas
thai - siam thai in sf
fish and chips - barbara's fish trap in half moon bay, bestest in the west
southern style bbq - smoking pig bbq in san jose, bestest in the west (friday night live jazz and blues)
scandinavian californian - nonni's bistro in pleasanton
malaysian - banana leaf in milpitas
japanese sushi - tatsu in walnut creek
japanese bento - minato in san jose nihonmachi
japanese no sushi - gombei in san jose nihonmachi
korean - omagari in san jose nihonmachi, jang soo jang in santa clara
 
Call Gopalan Nair. He knows a good French restaurant in Fremont.

Otherwise, go Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown or Japantown, you won't go wrong.
 
i didn't see the post. Wow not bad travelling all the time. The only problem is the long flight and of course customs is a bitch to clear in the US.

will have to pay gn's beer tab - can ruin a fortune. if he gets a dui, will have to post bail. then traffic ticket. hire a lawyer. attend court hearings. send him to traffic school. very troublesome.
 
was at the smoking pig bbq in sj with friends last night, and it was a blast. bluesy jazz band comprises guitarist from norway, drummer from italian mafia in sf, another gringo guitarist from sj, and a harmonica crooner from bombay.

Beer tab is not a problem for me in US. It's not that exp. How much can he drink all night long, no prob. But if in trouble, all I need to say to SFPD is sorry, I don't know him. :D

what in the fuck? Why do you need to pay for him? He even drives while drunk? WTF even in the US kelings give ppl trouble.

Most likely, he can't tell the diff between Miller and Bud since years ago, he just drink up and cheers!
