doyle drive, about a 3300-ft stretch of road on the approach to the golden gate bridge from sf downtown, will be closed this weekend for destruction. construction crews will detonate the drive in 4 places, and the whole operation will take over 55 hours or more than 2 days. in place of it, they will construct the new presidio overpass. it will take 3 years. you will have to find detours after 2 days to the golden gate bridge and beyond in order to reach sausalito, sonoma, marin, muir woods and point reyes. there are other long detours during the 2 days of road closure. you can drive east on the bay bridge to reach napa via 80, 580 and 680. from napa, you can drive west on 121 to sonoma. and from sonoma, drive south on 101 to marin, muir woods and sausalito.

have fun, enjoy and be safe!

* bump *

highway 1 (19th avenue) remains open and will be the only freeway alternative getting to the golden gate bridge. there's a local road from the marina/crissy fields to the presidio, and near fort point, there's a backroad to the entrance of the golden gate bridge. anyways, it will be a traffic mess in sf. weather is wet and cloudy for now, but will clear with cool breeze and warm sunshine for the next couple of weeks.

Too bad I don't think Joetys' going stay long enough for Bay To Breakers.

Thanks eatshitndie.

I arrive in LAX tomorrow 11pm. So go straight to hotel Radisson in the airport. Next day just relax around airport area and pick up car. Sunday start drive to LV, 2nd Wed fly direct to Honolulu. next Sunday 6th back to but land in SF, give myself 6 days to drive all the way down to LA and leave on 13th May for Bangkok.
