The kampung durians I had many years ago were the best. They were not as consistently good as the specialised breeds we have today but they were organically grown with natural fertilizers and little pesticide.

Malays plant as a hobby. Any excess, they give away to friends and relatives or sell. In front of kampung house. It's either durian. Kampung or durian Bukit.
Chinese as business. Mostly musang king.
