Japanese singer perform in empty arena in Shanghai.

You might want to rethink getting Sony phones. Standards slipping, lots of buyer's remorse, market share shrinking, poor demand even in home territory Japan.

Sony Mobile (Xperia) had its day in the sun in 2014. It's been downhill since then, and for good reason.

Thanks for the reminder. bro.

I have the mid range Xperia phone that has a lousy camera but still a good overall phone . Their speaker is good and love the 3.5mm headjack. I already check the flagship mark 7 before and has not got it yet as i have not done enough research for it. This will add to my info collection. However, i will get the mark 7 or 8 depending when i am buying it.

i watch the video and Sony actually take responsibility for this issue and remedy it with an update. China phones on being responsible? forget it. After sale services says a lot about the country and people.

Admire her unwavering courage and stage professionalism; even with a small audience, she continued to perform.

Ayumi Hamasaki announced that she has been told to cancel her performance in Shanghai on November 29 (tomorrow), after 5 days of working with 200 members of her crew to set it up. This is one of the highest profile concert cancellations as China-Japan diplomatic relations remain tense. The previous day Ayu had sent her prayers to the people of Hong Kong, and announced altered staging of the Shanghai concert to remove red costumes and fire effects. https://www.oricon.co.jp/news/2421525/full/

Japan’s Onoda fires back as China cancels concerts and turns entertainment into politics

Minister Kimi Onoda directly addressed China’s sudden cancellation of Ayumi Hamasaki and other Japanese artists’ concerts during her press conference.

She said the government will not comment on private company events but stressed that Japan’s cultural strategy is not “biased toward any particular country.”

Onoda emphasized that Cool Japan aims to grow Japanese fanbases “around the world,” suggesting Japan will not rely on China for cultural promotion.

Her calm but firm tone was seen as a message that Japan will not be intimidated by China’s politically motivated cancellations.

The cancellations came shortly after China reacted angrily to Prime Minister Takaichi’s Taiwan remarks and tightened control over Japanese entertainers.

Onoda indirectly criticized the media’s obsession with “China’s anger” while ignoring China’s use of culture as a political weapon.

Her comments resonated with fans who feel Japan should stop letting China dictate the entertainment landscape.

Japan now appears ready to shift its cultural diplomacy away from China and toward markets that don’t punish artists for politics.

China is shutting down Japanese concerts across the country, but there’s a problem for the CCP: people actually love Japanese music. Japan’s artists, bands, and pop culture have a massive following in China, and fans aren’t happy about the cancellations.

And the irony? This cultural freeze only seems to work one way. Japanese artists are global stars, while almost no Chinese singers have major popularity outside their borders.

It’s a move that may backfire harder than Beijing expected.
