Japan build new carrier but they call it destroyer

The problem is the F35 has soo much problems..Dont even know if it can fulfill what it is designed to do. This carrier might also become a white elephant..

that beside the point. Japan had already indicate their interests in F35 and possibly could deployed it on the carrier. Else why the need for so much hangar space?

Unlike other helicopter amphibious assault vessels, this one doesn't carry any landing craft. Space was save for under deck hangar. It a mini aircraft carrier.

Japan probably wouldn't need this carrier if she is thinking about striking inland china. It not even needed in those disputed islands with China, S.Korea and russia as land based aircraft would be sufficient. The only thing I can think of is about projecting her power way beyond her shores.

In ww2 Japan did not use much of aircraft carrier in Southeast Asia theatre. It was mainly for war against USA. This is simply because to conquer Southeast Asia, the optimal method is island hopping.

what is the point of navigating an aircraft carrier to far away land, unless the country has forward bases to supply the mother ship. Such a huge ship is just a sitting duck for asymmetric attacks. The only use for Japan aircraft carrier is to attack the USA bases in Pacific Ocean, and to provoke china.

Japan's carrier is useless in Indian Ocean and beyond without first capturing south east Asia.

Star war is a program that never took off. They already spent billions on F35 at a time when US is facing enormous budget constraints. It unlikely a decoy.

It firepower will be limited as it cannot carry AWACS. Therefore the carrier needs to operate within the range of land based AWACS which somehow defeat the purpose of an aircraft carrier which is to operate far away from shore.

Because of continental drift ocean currents in the Pacific, I understand any radioactive water leaked into the ocean will affect USA coast and not China or SEA.

I suspect this is just Japan's way of provoking china, hoping that china reacts strongly and then Japan can legitimately reverse its pacifist policy.

You don't need such a ship design for humanitarian missions. Neither is this good for sub hunting. But this design is good to stir shit in china.

The possible ramification of a united Asia with all the hardware being built would put the western world at a major disadvantage.
