I don't reckon TCM can handle cancer. If you looked at the history of TCM, the herbs are tested mainly for common afflictions like cough and cold. Acupuncture used to alleviate pains like headaches and stuffs. More importantly, folks usually die of constant war, and/or famine. Little chance to die of cancer.
Cancer, on the other hand, became prominent with scientific research some 200 years back. To add the icing to the cake, scientists are isolating the active compounds from plant extracts to test these candidates as anti-cancer drugs. TCM herbs are the primary candidates for these sort of drug assays.
