They will dutifully stop at traffic lights controlled junctions when it's red but will pull away just before it turns green. I equate that with ejaculating outside the vagina and plunging in right away again. Challenging such odds. Is it stupidity or it's just being I am the Malay minority. Don't persecute me. I will complain to my mosque.

The public perception is that the Malay race has an affinity with motorbikes. In Malaysia the Mat Rempits rules.

bro,

couple of things to take into perspectives :):):)
1. the bike is lighter than the car
2. the bike usually pulls ahead of the car when traffic light turns green
3. logical that they pull ahead of the pack of vehicles and zip around before the heavier vehicles trail after them
4. the bikers need not be squeezed between two vehicles, even that they shouldn't be doing so from the start
5. most bikers don't look at the lights along their path at junctions, they look at their adjacent direction
6. gives a sense that they are beating the red light just before it turns green in their favor
7. the adjacent lights are already red to begin with
8. faster reaction time as if they are F1 drivers or on MotorGP :):):)
to be honest, me would give way to them under most circumstances, they are more vulnerable to injuries, and having said that, their vulnerability doesn't warrant them the rights to ride dangerously and posing danger to other road users.

Not "dutifully" stop at traffic light lah, if don't stop will kena rammed by vehicles moving across the junction.

Nothing new. Has been going on in Malaysia for ages. Just go across the Causeway and watch them!

It's just 'Motorcycling, Malaysian Style.':D

motorbikes are ideal transport. it does not carry excess weight like cars therefore less wasteful. one day when price of energy hits the sky, everyone will ride a motorbike.
the mat on the bike us as impatient as anyone. nobody likes to waste time waiting for lights to go green. most are likely to move, provided coast is clear, when the pedestrian cross lights goes red, saving valuable seconds before traffic turns green.

Most bikers believe that riding in between lanes does not take up any lane. That is far from the truth. In fact cars on both lanes will have problem overtaking the bike. The driver's vision is unlike that of the biker's. It is impossible to make a hairline clearance. Anything less than a foot is more a matter of luck, or in this case, a matter of life and death.

Off from a traffic light red turning green, the idiot motorcyclist who zooms off at the loudest decibel is always Chinese as if in a race or speeding away for his life. I've never seen Malays, Indians or others doing that, without regard to the danger and noise pollution caused to others. If you ask me why most pizza, newspaper delivery and courier men are Malays or Indians, my best guess is that most of the Chinese motorcyclists are dead by first week on the job.

agree on all counts, save for the fact that vehicles ain't doing no lane cutting at traffic junctions.

some idiot with car plate number SGK1997(something) did just that at the junction next to i12Katong last night. saw the car whom got potong jalan high beamed at the arsehole, tailing behind all the way. that twit on lane2 just forced his way to the lane1 to avoid the vehicle queue waiting to enter i12 carpark.

anyways, lane cutting is another ball game on the highway, and Singapore is no short of idiots whom can't understand the meaning of keep left unless over taking. even when the limit is 90km/h, one shouldn't go at 90km/h and hog lane 1. me always keep left when not overtaking, cruising at a leisure speed of 90 in lane2.

ahaha... you reminded me of an incident me saw at Eunos Link, 2 Malaysian bikers on 2 bikes were fooling around at the junction, they revved so hard, one of them actually did a wheelie and fell off his bike when the light turned green, every pedesterians at the junction laughed so hard. the look on the face of the driver behind these two clowns was priceless. the other piece of crap sped off without any ability to help his poor friend. yeah, they were Chinese, and that was like a decade ago.
