Case 1: Mum's friend son graduated with a masters degree and is a University scholarship recipient from an American Uni....which uni i dunnoe, didn't ask. It's been 3months since he came back to Singapore and still can't find a job.....currently getting by by giving tuition...

Case 2: Friend's brother a 1st class honours grad from Uni of Michigan.....Also couldn't find work for many months until his dad interfered and got him a job at an accounting firm.....

These FTs are the ones that the PAPies try to hide from the media because these FTs are no better than Singaporeans and can actually be much worse. You only need to read about FTs in middle management level who are incompetent but get by very well.

The state media onlay talks about FTs doing jobs that SGs dont want and a few entrepreneurs but there is a very large pool of FTs who take on middle income jobs and are paid well enough to stay in condos and even find it very easy to find jobs for their spouses thanks to their FT and PAP connections.

That guy from YPAP Shriker or something that was in the cybernews for putting down Singaporeans is just one out of tens upon tens of thousands of FTs in middle income jobs that pay well enough for them to live in condos.

PAP needs FTs for the following reasons -
1) they need new voters who think the PAP is a good political party. To many Filipinos, Chinese Nationals and Indian Nationals, the PAP is seen as a pretty good political party.
2) without FTs to fill in the homes in SG, the PAP and their lackeys will not be able to earn from housing development
3) with loads of FTs, you can expect the GDP to increase very easily

These are the main reasons why FTs are needed by the PAP. Many Singaporeans now live with family members. There are many homes with extended families as many families have unemployed or the elderly have sold their flat and moved in with their working children.

The country is being driven to the dogs, FT dogs and the PAP is behind all of the grouses of Singaporeans. Not enough jobs. Low paying jobs. Expensive housing. Expensive rentals. Expensive utilities. Overcrowded transportation. Healthcare breaking at the seams for years. Elderly not having enough for retirement.

The list goes on and on and behind all these problems are PAP policies. And the PAP has said again and again that they will continue to bring in new FTs.This means that the problems will get worse and there is no end in sight to the problems. Your only solution is to leave the country or vote the PAP out.

You said the right thing, why are SINgaporeans so blind to see, too dumb to speak & too slow to act. The problem lies not with the low paying jobs at first, but with FT competing with every SINgaporeans from management to clerical. Now, it had even permates to the lower paying ones & worse to small businesses.

PMET's are in fact the biggest looser, for FT's are now betterer, faterer, and cheaper. These sinGAPOREANS professionals have plenty of qualifications & many had served NATIONAL SERVICE. Those who serve & can't find work, should raise the flag, say the pledge & sing MAJULLAH sinGAPURA...and wonder who is going onwards....it should be replaced with majullah India, Bangladesh, Philipinnes, Mynamar or PRC etc..

i work in an organisation that is very top heavy in terms of age and also about 60% FTs (mostly in junior positions, but there are about 4 officer levels now)....management is smart, make use of locals to do dirty jobs(or jobs that require image), then get the credit, then promote the FTs as they are easy to control (locals like to ask why and argue)...for my organisation, as the seniors all want to work forever like somebody, the HR is always moving the goalpost so us juniors always get a delay in promotion, all this because the seniors do not want to retire...

As for the civil servants, they have proper sturctures when it comes to retirement and succession planning, a good example would actually be the army (before they came out with the new domain specialist thing), it ensures that the younger ones can move up and the older ones retire with pride (or change job scope to teaching and mentoring rather than decision making), however, this structure also prevents locals from joining them in their early 30s (which is when most guys would finish upgrading themselves with a masters or have a family etc)...from my own experience, i dont think many people peak in their late 20s, cmon we only finish NS and Uni at about 25...and we get shut out for civil service positions when we are about 30 (official age cut off is 35 so i heard)...so its really unfair for those who peak at age 30 plus, has a family, and wants to change a job...this also contributes to the low birthrate...

sad state of affairs...better standby the taxi license, cos if you know your routes well and work hard, can still earn $2.5K to $3K a month...look forward to starting own business is also a good idea...

Agree too that PMET are the biggest loosers even though the local are betterer, and more dedicated to ensure success as their falimy and livihood are here where they are citizens.

Over time, the country will suffer as more and more of their PMEt and middle managers are out of market and experience.

Thereafter, sinkapore will mainly dependent on the so-called 'FTs' for the critical middle managers, which will ultimately lead to the collapse of the country when all these opportunistic 'FTs' leave when crises struck Sinkapore. One of the Global MNC which I am very intune with suffered the exact fate, went into Chapter 11, and all 'FTs' whom caused the downfall, just simply went to the next company by the villages which they came from, to start their nonsense all over in the next MNC. All locals were left sucking thumbs.

I hate to see thhis date happening, which is getting more likely by the day.
