Transport Minister: Jams despite ERP; Ever-crowded public transport despite SMRT and SBS Transit raking in the profits.

Education Minister: 6 A1s and cannot get into choice of JC (is through train schools breeding elitism?); How many foreign students are there in our tertiary institutions?

Minister for Information and the Arts: Who is regulating the duopoly of Starhub and Singtel?

Minister for Environment and Water Resources: Why sell our power generators to foreigners? Are they not strategic resources?; What has been done to control ever-rising utilities bills?

Minister for Manpower: Two words--- FOREIGN "TALENT"

Minister for Community, Youth and Sports: Bubbling religious tensions- what has been done?; Whither "sports development"?;

Ministers with no-portfolio: What the fuck have you been doing?

Feel free to contriubute more.

The thing that galls me is the kid with 6 A1s. What do the authorities want - the kid to sign up for lifetime membership to YPAP. Tharman and Ng should be ashamed of themselves. This is where citizenship should count.

This, for all practical purposes, is a bumiputera policy but one that is not based on racial purity but a perverse privileged meritocracy. Singapore boleh!

They've been doing their job. If they have no portfolio, then they're not supposed do nothing, are they? Traditionally, one minister-without-portfolio would be assigned to be NTUC Secretary-General, a position which the media obliging proclaim as Labour Chief (recent past held by Lim Boon Heng and currently held by Lim Swee Say.)

Anyway, this position is now called Minister at Prime Minister's Office. The Singapore PMO now (PM, MM, SM, DPMs, PMOMs) contains more ministers then the ancient China imperial Six Ministries combined.

The ministars in the prime ministars office are there to give ideas to the prime ministar when he runs out of ideas.

Totally agree bro.
Don't forget healthcare costs, incidents in the saf, immigration issues, structured products, etc etc.
And the ministars in the prime ministars office need to explain what they do everyday. I suggest that they should complete a time sheet and time card.

I'm sure many forumers want to see the Minister for National Development on the lynching list for HDB flats affordability.

Dear Sneering Tree,

You are right. It should not stop at MBT but NSP could only do so much with the kind of resources we have.

Well, I am suggesting whenever an opposition heads up with a Ministar, that's what they should do too.

Yes, we should. But not all opposition parties think the same way. If all opposition parties take up my suggested strategy, there will be a wow effect for all.

Hi, even though we have had very sharp disagreements before (especially in the old forum), I honestly think your idea is really good. Stay the course and it just might work!

Another obvious Minister target is Lim Swee Suay. His crime: for betraying the Singapore workers by allowing a cosy relationship between govt and business at workers' expense. Govt bent too far to accommodate business' cries for more cheap labour with so-called pro-business policies. Private business leverage on guan-xi with govt top leaders and cronyism to get around bureaucratic hurdles, quotas, and restrictions.

All ministers policies have to pass through LKY and LHL before being implemented or rather those two Lees gave their policies to the ministers to implement.

no point talking about all those rubber stamp ministers...

All oppositions want to go for what they perceive as the "easy meat" and are unwilling to take on the heavyweight like LKY. That leaves him too much leeway to provide fire support to other wards.

The thing about old fart is many people including his detractors somehow have a soft spot for him. The moment he comes to the ward, how many people are going to be influenced by his presents and how many percentage of votes are going to switch over to PAP. Remember how he manage to turn the situation in favour of Ho Peng Kee?

Oppositions needs to keep these 3 fellows LKY, GCT, LHL busy in their own GRC before thinking about winning in other GRCs.

The ministars in the prime ministars office are there to give ideas to the prime ministar when he runs out of ideas.

I should have thought that they're there to explain to PM why many ideas won't work, and to work out explanations for many ideas that went wrong.
