I'm logging off now. I don't dislike you but I dislike groundless allegation amounting to defamation. If you're still not able to furnish the wiki link that you alleged that I cut and paste, please retract and apologize. Don't be like another GMS, dead already coffin still must be vertical, not horizontal. Whichever way is dead.

He does not even understand the notion of defamation. This really made me despise ex-cops who are usually washed out sad shadows of their former selves.

Do you guys have any ugly experiences with ex-cops or military personnel? The ones i met are usually rather pathetic, with unhealthy egos.

When I was younger I detested cops (or pigs), they always find trouble with youths who only wanted to look and act cool like keeping long hair, wearing faded jeans, hanging out. And they confiscate personal belongings like skateboards, harass those with bicycles - no lights, no mudguards, no brakes. That was then, during the seventies. Don't know about now. No trouble at all with military personnel. They defend the nation, cops bully the citizens. Nothing against individual cops, just generalizing.

Cheers!

Generally modern military personnel are more highly educated. What i am saying is those ex-military personnel. Either their contracts not renewed or they retired. Most of them very pathetic after losing their 'authority'.

[1936] All ER 1237 (HL). The facts of this case are not widely reported; what is important is Lord Atkin's discussion of what consitutes a Defamation. In general, he said, there is no satisfactory definition. The traditional view, that a defamation is something that exposes the victim to 'hatred, ridicule, or contempt', was too narrow, and he preferred the view that a defamation is something that tends to lower the claimant in the estimation of right-thinking members of society.

You can start a poll in this forum to see if your alleged defamatory statement has in fact lowered fellow members' estimation of his already low reputation.

That's fair enough. E.g. you disputed my comment on Taipei traffic, it's probably because we went to Taipei at different times and to different areas. They're others who agreed with me. I'm fine with both sides. We're just sharing and discussing experience. No malice intended.

Actually, Lord Atkin hadn't been legally precise too. It should be intends rather than tends.
