Is POSB a STATE OWN Bank?

All Banks in Singapore are state controlled. Well I guess like everything else.

Every companies, enterprise etc insingapore is "owned" by the government.

What ever POSB and DBS does, left to right, right to left,,
under Temasick wing, its still belongs to the FamiLee!!

How about the "perpetually replenishing bank" "Cheat Perpetually Fund"?? aka C.P.F. ha ha ha

That's a good one! It's a self replenishing piggy bank that they can tap on to anytime! Just up your points!

That's Why Revolution Is Important

Who owns DBS?

Always ask yourself: who are the majority shareholders?

This is the sad truth. But, some of us rather fight them out using the rule of the game - voting. You should know by now that this is useless for the next 15 years.

What About SIA ?

after taking over posb for like $1 or ridiculous amount, after that they still acted damm yaya and cleared the POSB house by getting rid and replacing the posb staff with their own...

nobody knew anything then because nobody knows how to spread news like on the internet like the present...besides thats all water under the bridge...

What about SIA or Singapore Changi Airport ? I heard someone mentioned that the PAP sold the vast land for a token sum. How is this translated on the accounting sheet ?

Re: What About SIA ?

Went onto posb bank site and from there you 'follow the money' or trace the family tree so to speak..so it links to DBS. Now let's look at their majority shareholders..

Citibank Nominees Singapore Pte Ltd: 440,943,672, 19.10%
DBS Nominees Pte Ltd: 369,754,143, 16.01%
Maju Holdings Pte Ltd: 351,745,560, 15.23%
Temasek Holdings (Pte) Ltd: 278,510,692, 12.06%
HSBC (Singapore) Nominees Pte Ltd: 151,803,972, 6.57%
United Overseas Bank Nominees Pte Ltd: 67,257,494, 2.91%

Let's look deeper..Maju (3rd largest shareholder) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Temask Holdings (4th largest) and combined together they would be the controlling shareholders. And Temasek Holding is own by the State. So hope that answers the question. ;)

lianbeng still remembers Post Office Savings Bank (POSB) used to be a small counter beside the Post Office where people bought stamps to stick on card to be presented to that counter as a form of savings habit. :D
