Reading through Chinese history on Qin Shi Huang ( China's Qin Dynasty First Emperor), we can draw a parallel
with NLB removal and pulping of books.

The tyrannical Emperor issued harsh laws that are oppressive. Millions performed forced labour.
It uses brutal torture and harsh treatment to carry out these laws.
It controlled the people's mind by blocking and removing all avenues of free thinking and expression.

Qin Dynasty has an oppressive court that burnt philosophical books and bury Confucian scholars alive.( 0ver 400 were killed)

Here, our present day Minister on MEDIA CONTROL said he wants us to READ AND HEAR THE RIGHT THING.. The control of the Internet is for our good they say.

Is'nt this brainwashing to make us obedient subjects to their rule..???

Hence, Yacob is now just as hateful as Emperor Qin after making these remarks...

For Emperor Qin, we give credit to the Emperor that makes China stays unified after his rule and thereafter.
For Yacob, we credit him for making us stay divisive and we virtually curse him with each breathe after he made those remarks.

Thus, we are unhappy and lament that our rights are suppressed.

This is not surprising and is the reason why Singapore has become known as the "nanny-state." The authorities do all the thinking and decision for the citizens "good" citizens adhere. Anyone who questions, thinks differently, is considered a dissident.

Cheers!

The government behaves like a nanny because that is the way the citizens want it.

People who want an authoritarian government have daddy issues.

People who want a fussy, micromanaging government have mommy issues.

I am okay with destroying trash books which doesn't add value to our society.

But when the media stop the oppositions from speaking, I will be mad!
