Khaw Boon Wan scored political points when he handled the SARS crisis well in 2003. Some may argue he was there at the right time. Fast forward to 2010, he volunteered to take up the hot seat portfolio, Ministry of National Development. He lowered the prices of many BTO flats, and from what I know from the youngsters, young couples are happy for they feel PAP is finally attentive for their needs for a cheaper flat.

Now Khaw scored even more Political Points. His popularity is soaring, may even surpass the inner-cabinet members, TCH, NEH, etc. There is no straw poll for his popularity, so this is just a speculation.

Some brothers here mentioned the former ISD director Benny Lim will be Perm Sect for National Development Ministry. Did anyone wonder why do you need a former Intelligence Chief in MND?

Is that a way Lee Hsien Loong signaling to Khaw to keep Khaw in check?

Maybe I think too much. Perhaps it is just an innocent rotating of port folios for Benny Lim.

What had he done in SARS and NKF fiasco? Name me something.
