Heard that many natives of Venice can't afford to stay in that city because of the high cost. They commute from outside the city where its cheaper & the only ones staying in Venice are the tourists:eek:

Absolutely correct. In the near future Singaporeans will have to live in JB and commute to the island to work cos of the high Swiss cost of livinghere.

Yup, it is, and it has happened. Singapore is such a hot country all year round with almost no farmland in existence, so in all humbleness the more rain the better.

Places outside wouldn't be so crowded too. Also floods in Singapore are really nothing than compared to those in other countries, including even Malaysia. Nobody dies here and help is always within reach so people should be thankful and not make too much of a fuss out of it.

Sounds like what one forummer said here recently about most people who are employed in the city can't afford to live in the city area and instead live in the outskirts like Tampines where they commute to work.

Looks like the PAP are still not happy with the $$$ they are collecting from the increased ERP, fare hikes, rental hikes, utilitiy hkes,.... Once the global recovery happens expect the "real" price of energy to rise. Of course the PAP will make adjustments to prices to maintain their profits.

So no matter where you stay in Spore, you are going to feel the impact of the PAP greed. The only way out is to stay in JB where there is no gst, no TV/radio license, no water conservancy taxes,....

JB may become the preferred place to stay, away from the high crime, high prices, frequent flooding,..., of Spore :):

If you can't beat them(Malaysians) might as well join them in JB. :D
