what's wrong with that? FB is first and foremost a communication tool. And you are just communicating to all your friends that your family member has died. Its an efficient way, you don't have to worry about finding everyone's email or phone number to sms them. Close friends and relatives you can call directly. All else, you can FB.

Technology is powerful, newspaper is very old fashion. Nobody will see and after a day or two, the print will be replaced by new ones. FB, is yours to own, that is where friends connect. Save money too. Don't let SPH earn. Last time, they intimidated me at my dad's wake to buy their column, for couple thousands dollar. I told them I used FB already.
