KUALA LUMPUR: A father, who is expecting his third child, suddenly collapsed and died while playing badminton in Seremban, Negri Sembilan.
China Press reported that a video footage of Lee Kah Chin, 35, suddenly falling to the ground and becoming unresponsive while playing a game last night had gone viral.
Lee was seen collapsing after receiving a badminton shot during the match. Fellow players then rushed over and performed emergency resuscitation on him with an automated external defibrillator.
Lee was later rushed to hospital, but doctors confirmed he had died. He left behind his pregnant wife, who was expected to give birth soon, besides two young children — a 3-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter.
The heartbreaking news had left many shaken and worried for his grieving widow.
A close acquaintance revealed that Lee worked as a salesman and was regarded by friends as a dedicated husband and father.
The couple had recently bought a new house and were looking forward to moving in as a family of five after the birth of their third child.
"He had been active in sports for decades and was in good health. Before the game, he didn't mention feeling unwell at all.
"He just returned a shot and suddenly collapsed," the friend said.
After the post-mortem, Lee's body was released to his relatives for the funeral, which will be held tomorrow at the Chen Kong Toh Tong Temple in Seremban.
