Is 2GB data sufficient for mobile?

I've also a mobile broadband of 7.2mbps (2GB), but it is a sim card. Can I put it into an ordinary phone and use it as tethering device?

the sim is not a radio chip nor processor. it's memory for authentication and accounting. your old feature phone will need the radio baseband and processor hardware (chipsets) and os & app software to work as a mobile hotspot device. it will not work as it is, and i will not encourage you or anyone to modify it to make it work as a mobile hotspot. it will be easier and cheaper to buy a new smartphone. when you use the mobile hotspot feature, bear in mind that you will eat into your mobile data allocation or cap. it will be better off to offload your porn streaming on wi-fi via an isp connection.

2gb cap makes smart phone redundant and brings mobile communication back to the stone age. Use internet radio, YouTube and movie downloads, confirm not enough, so why carry a smart phone when such features are crippled? All those who don't exceed 2gb cap are better off using old keypad Nokias because they are not using smart phones as smart phones.

iphone4 & 4s can be on wi-fi, but do not have mobile hotspot or "mi-fi" or tethering capability. the iphone5 has it. a mobile hotspot offering mi-fi tethering to other devices is different from a mobile with wi-fi tethered to a mi-fi. :p

Oh yes they do my ip4 can become a wifi hotspot and it can do this since iOS 4 or even earlier.

yes, you're right. it came with the ios update when the iphone5 was 1st released. the ios version in conjunction with the release of the iphone4 didn't have that feature.

Envy you guys have 3G and 4G. Here real 3G just started don't even dream of 4G before crossing 3.5G as here mostly still 2.5G.
