The US will need minimum 3 aircraft carriers to attack Iran as the gulf Arabs prevented US from using airbase and airspace for the attack. If iran missiles can hit just one carrier, the US will withdraw.
If i am iran, i might as well march all the way to Syria. Like in the good old Persian v Greek days.. The levant was either under greek or Persian influence for long time before Arabs and turks came in.
