Many people will be upgrading their iPhone to 5G. Me too. It’s worth waiting for it since last year iPhone 11.

5g baseband chips still have some iterations to go before more bands are added, especially those refarmed from 2g and 3g and new bands dedicated for 5g in sub-6ghz. moreover, the mmwave bands are still work in progress as operators need to acquire them, and they can be super sexpensive to build out. 4g lte is good enough for another 6.9 years by which time standard bodies will be working on 6.9g. you may get a 5g chip on your phone for now but ubiquitous global 5g service is way out for sometime.
