Sg's weather, while having no calamities, typhoons, etc. isn't really conducive for outdoor activities like BBQ, picnics, sports, or spending the afternoon at an amusement park. No doubt one can "tahan" the weather - but that is really what it is - tahan.

As for freedom, I dare light up a joint in my backyard in Canada, no one will report, in fact, the friendlier neighbour will poke his head over the fence and likely invite himself. Try that in Sg.
