Only critical illness policies cover major illness.

Ordinary term policies without critical illness rider cover only death and TPD.

do you all think it's worthwhile to keep the living life policy?

can quite tough to keep 3 policy. but yr loved one will benefit.

for practice reasons illness and health related better to keep . term and none life policy you can always buy on

online and atm machines .

Health care related expensive in Singapore

Take best advice from Tan Kim Lian. He will explains what most important to be covered in life.

how much are you all insured if i may ask?

I am insured $1 million dollars on death and disability, $500K on catastrophic illnesses, and I also have a CPF-approved medishield plan that covers from first dollar.

you serious? how much you have to pay for premium???

i have 3 policies, thinking of taking away one.

The types of critical illnesses covered should have been clearly spelt out in your policy documents. My Prudential critical illness policy spells out very clearly the types and stages of critical illnesses that it would pay and not pay.

TPD, TI and Death are standard for most insurance policies. You need to pay additional premium for critical illnesses coverage.

You should not take away the Private Medishield Insurance, such as PruShield from Prudential, for example. Hospital bills can make you go bankrupt. It is even better if you can afford to take up a rider (such as PruShield Extra) on top of your Private Medishield policy that will cover you for the 10% co-insurance and 50%/100% of the deductible.

You should also not take away your long-term care (Eldershield) insurance, such as Aviva's MyCare Plus policy. Nowadays, strokes are all too common. Having a steady monthly income from your long-term care insurance goes a long way both for you and your family members.
