I met with hail twice in the USA. But very tiny compared with this.;)

1st time somewhere in Wyoming during a Yellow Stone trip, but was not within Yellow Stone. Hit my car and initially I did not realized, the whole stretch of time was mixed rain & snow on that portion of Rocky Mountains. It was the local FM radio that said hails then I realized why it was that noisy on my car. It was dense, like rains.

The 2nd time can not remember where already, but was puzzling experience because there was only snow days ago, snow coving ground, on a clear winter day. Weather forecast on TV / FM were both good. I drove out of motel early to proceed to breakfast & journey. Then suddenly a very loud bang hit on bonnet before I closed car door. It crashed into bits. I tot some one threw a snowball at me! I lookup up the upper floors of motel and everywhere, there was no one and very quiet.

I tot some kids pranks. There wasn't any more of those hitting anywhere that I could see. So I drove off few miles away. Suddenly another one hit my car roof! Fucking loud and gave me a shock. I stopped car to check. Looked around, area was deserted. Can not be any one pulling pranks. So I was puzzled.

Later within several hours, I noticed few more such crashes on the road instead of my car. Then I became sure that these came from the rather clear sky. I was amazed. It was a random and very low frequency hits but the hail stones were larger than fist size. I think one can pass out if got hit in the head by them.:eek:
