No ASEAN neighbor is being shortchanged by our Nation's oil refinery efforts. The costs are transparent & we Singaporeans too need to eat.
1. While it is true that much of the oil delivered to our Jurong refineries comes from Iran, a HEAVILY sanctioned Worldwide nation, equally those refineries received oil from MANY OTHER oil producing Nations.
2. There is NO law that oil from any nation that is once refined is sold , is a crucial necessity to FUE:L economic growth to nation states whereby they may not have the tech, talents & economic resources to do it their own.
3.It's fine if Indonesia decides to obtain refined oil from USA. It is only a FREE MARKET policy that Singapore adopts. However, there are many other nations in ASEAN neighbors that may not be as capable in talents, societal funding to refine oil - at its cheapest form to sustain their economy.
No need to get emotional, get worked up but end up with clouded judgements which will not only hurt others, but eventually hurt oneself when realities sink in.
4. Thus may all in the Petroleum industry in Singapore keep calm. Jobs will still ABOUND -for markets such as Papua New Guinea, Philippines, etc for better use of national resources, infrastructure, logistic costs & will buy from Singapore.....
