Indian ‘FT’ lectures Singaporeans for not hanging the national flag
In a sign that foreigners are calling the shots in Singapore at the expense of native Singaporeans, an Indian ‘FT’ Sanjay Bhatia has written in to TODAY castigating Singaporeans for not hanging the national flag.
A Singaporean Chan Hean Boon has written a letter two days ago expressing his dismay at the few flags seen on display publicly with less than a week to go before Singapore celebrates National Day.
“I’d like to think that Singaporeans are perhaps too busy to make the effort in taking out the flag or they are simply too reserved to openly show their love for Singapore. However, I believe the influx of foreigners over the past few years may have slowly eroded our affection for this country, and Singaporeans no longer have the passion to fly the flag.”
Mr Sanjay flew into a rage and lambasted Mr Chan for his views:
“As a foreigner in this country, I am appalled that a Singaporean blatantly blames the influx of foreigners as a reason for the erosion of Singaporeans’ love for their country.”
He then ‘reminded’ Mr Chan what the Singapore national flag represents:
“The Singapore National Flag consists of two equal horizontal sections, red above white. In the top left canton is a white crescent moon beside five white stars within a circle……”
He ended his letter by singing praises of the PAP regime to suck up to it in a shameless manner:
“Lastly, as a foreigner, I respect Singapore and applaud the Government for building such a great nation. I have a number of Singaporean friends and colleagues and have never felt any hatred such as that shining through Mr Chan’s letter.”
It is not known if Mr Sanjay is a Singapore PR, but being a foreigner in Singapore, he should jolly well show some respect to Singaporeans. His ‘holier-than-thou’ attitude which is typical of North Indians may be encouraged by the groveling PAP leaders such as Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong who recently proclaimed that Singapore must stay ‘open’ to ‘global talent’.
Since Mr Sanjay loves the PAP regime so much, he should put his words into action by taking up Singapore citizenship and serve National Service like all Singapore men too. Till then, he has absolutely no right to comment on Singapore politics or criticize native Singaporeans.
See, I have already warned you. Are you willing to pull the trigger ?
