Mystery fire breaks out at Teck Whye Lane block
STOMPer zouri900 saw this fire at a Teck Whye Lane block last night (December 20), and wonders what could have caused it.
"My family and I witnessed a mystery fire accident which occurred at Block 11 Teck Whye Lane at around 10.50pm yesterday.
"I was closing the window because there was a strong gust of wind blowing into my flat when I saw a blanket on fire in a unit in the opposite block.
"There was no one around.
"The fire became stronger as the strong wind blew across the fire and black smoke was released.
"I called my father and Without hesitation, he shouted across the building to warn the neighbours.
"At the same time, my sister called for the fire brigade.
"The fire was put out by the neighbours.
"The fire brigade arrived 15 minutes later and could not find the fire.
"However, they were led by the kind neighbours to the burnt floor.
"Investigations were conducted by the fire brigade.
"Luckily, no one was injured in this accident."
The SCDF says it received a call about the fire at 10.53pm.
One red rhino, one fire engine and two support vehicles arrived at the scene within 8 minutes.
The SCDF says the fire was put out by members of the public.
The fire involved a bedsheet hung outside a unit on the 11th floor of Block 11, Teck Whye Lane.
No one was injured in the fire.
The SCDF says investigations are ongoing.
