If train breaks down for an hour, MRT says....

1 hour then got free bus ride. Who is really going to wait around for 1 hour except maybe those already stuck inside the train.

Providing Free bus service is the least they should do... What is their service level agreement with LTA?

The Bus Companies are DUTY-BOUND to offer alternative services to the commuters who suffered as a result of any breakdown in service.
Air carriers are doing it, even providing hotels, breakfast, lunch and dinner to stranded passengers....
The LTA is there to ensure that such a service is indeed provided as part of "duty of care" (Law of Torts) that the operators owe to commuters.
Minister Lui should not say, "he is happy with such a move" for such a move must be shoved into the throats of the transport operators.
Wake up dear Singaporeans...Thou hath slumbered far too long............

One-hour wait for maintenance recovery before remedy is insanely unacceptable. This is supposed to be Mass Rapid Transit. The remedy and compensation should be immediate. I'm not suggesting free buses standing by at all stations at all moments. That'd be insanely costly too. Just a simple way. Standby a stock of free bus coupons. When a train breaks down, the passengers (victims) should be issued with free bus coupons to move on a.s.a.p.
