...... yet CIA stole all his blueprints: Shows USA is smart and cunning.
America bought him over to develop the space program: Shows America is smart and generous.
but seek America as refuge from German Nazis: Shows America is smart and magnanimous.
haha what a feeble attempt at defending ur beloved US of A. If the americans were really that smart would they, in the first place, need to resort to stealing or buying over foreigners to help their country achieve all these technological advances. Obviously, intelligence in their own gene pool is rather limited hence the need to resort to such acts to advance themselves. May i also add that medical advances that US of A achieved since WW2 is actually built on the back of knowledge inherited from WW2 Japanese military doctors.
Fren, the rest of the countries are only trying to catch up with USA. They may be disliked by some, because to maintain the superpower status, they have to resort to some dastardly methods, but that's the political game. And it's better to be friends with them than an enemy. China has come out of isolation and will progress with the rest of the world, but it is still a long way for her. And without the USA opening her markets to China, where is China going to sell her products? For the time being, China is only able to sell low-end labour intensive goods like clothing, toys and stationary. For her to even match Korea, and Japan's consumer goods, it will still take awhile. Those electronics goods she manufactures will not sell outside of China if they do not carry a foreign brand (Like Sony, Philips, Tepal). They've first got to overcome widespread homeland poverty and get them to reach middle class in order to have a home market.
Cheers!
Fren, Ur knowledge of China seems to be at least 20years behind, or it is the western version which always overplay the importance of the west to Asia and the insignificance of Asia to the west

China is not as poor as u think. The bulk of the Chinese are now at least in the middle class bracket or are moving towards it. Wages are rising in China such that China is slowly losing its "reputation" as the world's factory to countries such as Cambodia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, etc. Nice Japanese and continental cars are now very common sight throughout China and I was actually quite surprised to see Audi and Mercedes dealership in some small town in northern part of Gansu province, which is said to be one of China's poorest province.
Think about it if there is widespread proverty in China, why are there so many european brands eager to enter the Chinese market? Does it make sense to set up shop in a country where the people can't afford to buy ur products?
And no, at the time being China is not restricted to just selling only low-end labour intensive products. Just to name a few, they are manufacturing and selling their own luxury car (Hongqi), manufacturing their own military and space hardware, manufacturing their own high end electronic consumer goods such as flat screen T.V, smart phone, etc. In a nutshell, there is a local Chinese brand for just about every product there is in this world, and while many are surviving based on local demands, a few have actually made it into the western markets (such as Chinese branded motorcycles being sold in US of A and other parts of South America). You are also wrong on the part on Chinese branded and manufactured consumer electronics goods not being able to sell outside of China. There are Chinese consumer electronic goods brands like Haier that has expanded successfully overseas under its own name.
dude, it is about time u come back to Asia and revise ur knowledge of it.
