You remind me of ex-Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad who blamed his own shortcomings on S'pore. His antagonistic foreign policy was not simply "pro-Malaysia" and driven by national interest, but his own frustration over the contrast between Malaysia and S'pore's economic trajectories. SG’s rapid modernisation into a wealthy, efficient financial hub put us decades ahead of Malaysia's fumbling efforts at economic development. To mask Mahathir's own failures, he claimed that S'pore’s success came at Malaysia's expense. During the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, he even publicly lashed out at S'porean's financial operations, instead of owing up to his govt's corruption and incompetence. It's idf red flag operation. Just like 9/11..
