ideas/advice for single traveller

I am planning a solo vacation in the next few weeks... problem is i dont have a clue where is nice to go and where is cheap to stay...

some suggestions and advice anyone??

i was hoping to go batam or malaysia cause it is prolly the only places i can go with my budget of $200 to $250

Can go Taman Negara on the Johore side and do some hiking but bring your own tent , some instant noodles and water purifying pills .
