MR TRENT NG: 'I'm halfway through the book Lee Kuan Yew: Hard Truths To Keep Singapore Going and I am loving every page. Never have Singaporeans heard so candidly, yet gently and emotionally from the Minister Mentor. So controversial are some of his thoughts that I had to re-read some of his quotes and wonder if he really was going public with such sentiments. I realised that his sentiments were not divorced from reality. In fact, these are subjects that are discussed privately on the ground. Now that he has opened the discussion, we should pick it up as mature Singaporeans. Let us not shy away from the hard truths but be pragmatic and open, and learn from our weaknesses. Thank you, MM Lee, for being a 'fighter' and going on record with these hard truths.'

There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving credit where it's due. Without LKY, you guys would still be shitting into buckets.

You don't even need a LKY to push Singapore forward when you have a sound British infrastructure.

hi there

1. sam kor, what must give what credits?
2. sheep are paid millions and rewarded handsomely.
3. just perform all the tasks.
4. there is no need to blow one's trumpet or horns!

he look like he make a good pap dog. Power and Wealth will be in his future.

I wonder what his parents think about what he wrote.
Proud or embarrassed?

The boy is still too young to adequately appreciate the political landscape in this country. He's lapping up whatever he reads because he does not know better. In the years to come, when reality bites him in the ass, then he will wake up.

He should start nourishing himself well .
Premature oxidation like a 50 year old man .

without intake of fruits . Plain without any inspiration .
Needs to follow a "role model" .
Queues for Iphone .
I bet he is those that spend $3 on food and $500 on glasses frames .

He is beginning to exhibit some Mongolian syndrome .
Too specialized in a certain area at the same time
not too proficient either . That kind of mediocre
worker who cannot do without a ten-year series .

That kind who buys
1)Sudoku for dummies
2)Dating for dummies
3)How to go through NS handbook
4)Walking for the beginner

In order to produce a child like him .

You naturally need a equally SISIRcompliant parent .

We have less ruffians more safe than creative .
It's not a bad thing .

香港 comes to mind ;)
Exactly, Hong Kong is the proof that the British were good colonial rulers. Sound infrastructure, no interference with the local culture, etc. In fact, Hong Kong feels more "Chinese" even though it went through a 100-year rule under Britain. it is bullshit to think that LKY is a genius to be able to push Singapore forward.

If HK people were allowed to vote in 1997, UK would thrash PRC by a deposit-forfeiting margin.

Typical scholar face with the future of being a civil serpent.

I fully agree. In time of war, he will either be the first to hide or capture and slaughtered by the enemy. Don't trust this kind of look of a fighting material to protect Singapore. But certainly a material of a pap po lum par type.

Don't say too far until hab war. I cannot be sure if he will not faint during marching 24km to his passing out parade leh.
