16-year-old student Xavier Ong from Outram Secondary School is once again in the spotlight for the wrong reason.
The bumptious teenager on Thursday wrote on Twitter that he drove a company car from his workplace at Turf City back home. His tweet was picked up by one of his followers, who was enraged and submitted it to citizen journalism site STOMP.
Apparently, his mother seemed to support his wrongdoings despite Xavier being under the legal age of obtaining a driving licence. “She [his mother] said next time want car just ask her for key,” he tweeted.
One STOMP reader nicknamed “cantreject” commented: “Can the authority look into it? Driving without licence will endanger the life of others.”
In a response to the STOMP posting, Xavier claimed that those tweets were a lie. “People really think I drove?! Lie only also believe,” he tweeted.
He became the centre of attention last November for snapping a photograph of his ‘O’ level Social Studies scripts 13 minutes before the commencement of the paper. He then tweeted: “Do you dare bring a phone into examination hall and take a picture?” alongside a link to a picture of his exam paper.
Xavier’s actions have resulted in him being interrogated by Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB). He will receive a “T” for every subject he sat for — meaning “termination of results due to exam misconduct”.
