If it is blocked, it could be for a variety of reasons. I'd only be guessing if I ventured an answer. However, that has nothing to do with the authorities in Singapore. It would be up to the admins who manage the AFP youtube channel.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes, we can only speculate. Some clues for aspiring Sherlock Holmes:

1) Why only block access from "this website" (Sammyboy) while still keeping it on Youtube? What's so special about Sammyboy from AFP's perspective?

2) Why is the timing so "co-incidental"? For 1 hour or so after posting it was accessible, thereafter it became blocked and only blocked for access from Sammyboy.

3) AFP needs a licence to operate in Singapore?

Good morning Sir,

This may seem a little bit off topic, but since we are talking about Press Freedom, could you mind investigating why the video I posted in #7 of the thread below is no longer accessible via Sammyboy. It was when I posted it and for say 1 or 2 hours thereafter. Subsequently, it becomes inaccessible because AFP "has blocked it from display on this website".

Who asked AFP to block it? What does that say about Media Freedom in Sinkieland?

Thank you for your kind attention.

The video is not 'blocked' you twit. The uploader has disabled embedding, so you have to watch in on Youtube rather than on an external site.

You can choose whether to disable comments, ratings, embedding etc for every video you upload on Youtube.

"This website" could simply be a generic term. Have you tried embedding the video in any other site?

Hello, did you read my post you twit. Embedding was successfully done when I made my post and it could be viewed on Sammyboy for 1 hour or so thereafter. I tested it myself. Later in the afternoon, when I checked for comments on that thread and clicked to watch the video thro' Sammyboy, the error message AFP "has blocked this video from this website" appears for the first time and this video has blocked for access from Sammyboy since then.

Of course, it can be accessed from Youtube, that's what I said and that's why I provided the link. So when AFP uploaded this video and it has been on Youtube for a long time, they did not disable embedding. If embedding became disabled, as you said, then AFP "suddenly" decided to disable it like 1 hour or so after my post. Co-incidence?

I doubt if it has anything to do with sammyboy in particular as it doesn't play on singsupplies.com either. What about other videos from the same channel?
