Despite quite a number of Singaporeans dying to call themselves Human Rights Activists, I always wondered why no one seems to be bothered about maids forced to walk seven days a week.
I understand the expat community does not tolerate such practices within its rank using subtle pressure and even direct confrontation.
Particularly irked me when someone that I know who is involved in social causes claims that her maid prefers money than a sunday off. My guess is that lady needs someone to look after her kids while she does her 'charitable ' things on Sundays.
