Number of Stars is irrelevant. It depends on the organization awarding the Stars and what it stands for? So what if SAF goes round giving Stars to all the Jiak Liao Bee Goonerals. It not only makes SAF looks stupid to Singaporeans, its also a laughing stock in other Countries.

Actually Najib was probably in a situation that he will be dammed if he shoots and dammed if he does not..

Reason is these Filipinos are also Malays and shooting them would have caused a Malay - Malay disagreement and it will be something he cannot afford as its nearing election. Not shooting would have meant he is not protecting his country.

I am sure he thanked the lucky stars that the Filipinos shot first and killed the policemen and gave him an opening to retaliate. If they did not, it would have been a stalemate till today. Now he can milk it for all the publicity for the election plus tag the opposition to the Filipinos too.

The Bornean States are like their cash cows and they are exploiting these 2 states without giving much in return. Instead of which they are plunderers and what monies they received form these states are used elsewhere in Peninsula Malaysia.

That is why these 2 Bornean states have bad infrastructure and 10 years behind KL and Penang.

Arguably, Malaysia has 100,000 soldiers and they had to send 7,000 to Sabah to perform the search and destroy mission. Sabah does not even have 7,000 of which most of them are needed to man their posts. Sarawak which is nearby does not have any spare soldiers to send to bolster the Sabah forces.

In a nutshell, which I agree with you, both these states are like adopted children and not the flesh and blood of Malaysia. They will be easy pickings by any hostile countries if the Malaysians have not learn any lesson from this debacle.
