Surprisingly these 2 countries has minimum wages.
If a country is productive and stands upon a solid foundation, a reasonable minimum wage can be implemented without causing any significant distortions in the economy.
Think of a country as nothing more than an extended family business.
If a family business consisting of two parents employing their two children turns over $50,000 a year, there is no way that the business is going to survive if the children demand that they be paid a minimum wage of $30,000 per annum each. It would put the business in a $10,000 deficit even before any other expenses were met.
To meet the wage demands, the family business first has to increase revenue significantly
A country is no different.
