Huang Yiliang vs chicken rice seller: Ex-actor allegedly assaulted after rumours spread about him & stall assistant
He said he was hit on the back of the head by the husband of the chicken rice seller.

Former actor Huang Yiliang, 64, was allegedly assaulted at Circuit Road Hawker Centre by a fellow hawker.
What allegedly happened
Huang told The Straits Times (ST) that the situation escalated at about 6pm on May 10.
He said the woman who runs the chicken rice stall next door had called his stall assistant to a table.
The woman's husband was there.
Huang said he told his assistant not to engage with them as he knew she did not want to interact with the woman running the chicken rice stall.
Huang claimed that the chicken rice stall couple started shouting to shoo off the crowd of customers queuing at his stall.
Huang shouted back, he said.
He claimed that he stepped out of his stall, and the husband of the chicken rice stall owner hit him on the right ear from behind.
After he fell forward, he was helped by others, Huang claimed.
Huang was discharged at about 10pm the same day after he was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
He was given painkillers and medical leave, ST reported.
Mothership understands that the stall assistant had not been around for a while, and had arrived at work that day, at which point the chicken rice seller went to confront her.
Rumours of Huang and assistant "sleeping" together
The alleged physical altercation followed rumours being spread about him and his stall assistant having an improper relationship.
Huang alleged that the chicken rice stall owner had spread the rumours.
In a video interview with 8world, the chicken rice stall owner claimed that Huang's stall assistant said she was invited to Huang's house to "hug" and "kiss".
Giving his side of the story, Huang told 8world that he had invited his stall assistant to rest at his place between 2pm and 4pm as it was the lull period before dinner service.
He said he had moved to MacPherson and his home was air-conditioned, which would provide a more comfortable resting environment for his stall assistant.
According to Huang, the chicken rice seller had apparently kept asking his stall assistant if she and Huang "slept", which in Mandarin can be construed as a euphemism for being involved with each other.
In the video interview, the chicken rice seller retorted that the stall assistant was the one who made the admission to resting at Huang's place.
The chicken rice seller retorted that if working for Huang entailed having "free meal, free lodging, and free rest".
Stall assistant clarifies rumours
The 50-year-old part-time stall assistant told ST she started working for Huang in March.
She managed to do so as a full-timer for two weeks.
During the mid-afternoon breaks, she napped on the sofa at Huang's house, while Huang rested in his room.
She later quit and returned part-time, working mostly evenings and weekends and did not go to Huang's home to rest.
Some time in April, the chicken rice stall owner spoke to her and found out she had stayed in Huang’s flat.
The chicken rice stall owner asked in Mandarin if she and Huang “had slept” and the assistant said they did.
Huang said other hawkers subsequently informed him that the chicken rice stall owner was going around saying he and his assistant had been “sleeping together”.
Chicken rice stall owner not welcoming: Huang
Huang told ST that the chicken rice seller was not welcoming towards him and found fault with his renovation works initially.
He also said he did not want to reveal what had led to the altercation previously caught in a five-second video shared on May 6.
Huang claimed that the chicken rice stall owner had asked him five times if she could be his stall assistant.
He turned her down and was cordial throughout until he heard about the rumours, he said.
Huang was reported to have good relationships with the other hawkers and cleaners in the food centre.
The Hainanese chicken rice stall has been hit by a slew of new one-star reviews on Google reviews after news broke of the altercation.

Why not ? Selling different food. Additional salary. Can order crab meehoon + chicken rice or vice versa. There be more ppl coming from other parts of sg to eat hyl crab than to eat her chicken rice.
