I think they were planning to win the war and establish factories on the mainland.

Well they lost so there goes the master plan...
Yeah maybe. However the nips were not United in their strategy. Navy do 1 thing army do another. That is one reason for their loss.

This is clearly a photo of a comfort woman, not some chink female guerilla. Look at the smiling japs in the background.

Please remember this girl, Cheng Benhua .
She was a soldier and will remain forever young.

Cheng Benhua, an anti-Japanese fighter during World War II, was killed at the age of 24 after being gang raped by Japanese soldiers.
Born in 1914 in Gaoxiang Village, He County in east China's Anhui Province, Cheng was smart, brave and forthright in her nature. Whilst still at junior middle school, she joined a local students' organization, Regiment No. 1194 of the China Boy Scouts, and received rigorous military training.
When the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1937–1945) broke out in 1937, Cheng took active part in the anti-Japanese national salvation movement of the time. She helped to paint slogans, sung battle songs and staged "living-newspaper" dramas, like many other young Chinese compatriots around her.
Cheng later married her fellow-recruit Liu Zhiyi, and the couple joined the county's anti-Japanese People's Self-Defense Force on December 16, 1937.
In May 1938, Japanese forces occupied the region. Cheng headed other soldiers to fight against the enemy but was eventually outnumbered and captured.
According to one Japanese soldier's recollection, the forces captured a number of Chinese fighters in the county, including a Chinese woman – who turned out to be Cheng. Yamashita Koichi said that Japanese forces tried to persuade Cheng to surrender, but the courageous woman merely threw them a contemptuous glance.
At the time, a Japanese military correspondent took a photo of Cheng who was shortly thereafter imprisoned with other compatriots.
Attracted by Cheng's beautiful looks, Koichi and the Japanese soldiers took it in turns to rape her. A few days later, the Japanese beasts raped her again and then brought her to an execution site to watch them execute other Chinese captives.
Undaunted by the hazards, Cheng stretched out her numb arms, passed her fingers through her messy hair and turned her face towards the sun. She crossed her hands on her chest, put on a contemptuous smile and faced death unflinchingly.
The Japanese military correspondent took another picture of Cheng. Finally she was killed by Japanese soldiers with brandishing bayonets.
Although Cheng died, the Chinese will remember this beautiful fighter forever.

Some photos did not get through earlier.
From Jamie Wong answer to How powerful is the Chinese military?

As a matter of fact, a lot of PLA soldiers didn’t even have a rifle. For major battles, each soldier got 1 rifle, 100~200 bullets, and 2~3 grenades. As for the guerrillas who was fighting in the Japanese occupied ares, half of them didn’t even have a rifle or pistol. Each battle, 5 rounds were the standard equipment. Others had to use blades and spears.

↑ This picture shows the common situation of PLA guerrillas.

↑ And this was already a major division, but in the tough area.

↑ This is how the 8th route army looked like. It was the major division of PLA. Still no armored vehicle.

the Japanese army don’t have enough troops in China therefore their control of China was limited to the cities, connecting railway lines and various important points. they leave the vast countrysides and mountainous areas alone, and that was where the Communist forces settled in and built up their strength. the Communist forces evaded the Japanese and rarely fought a decent battle. the Japanese at times employed the puppet army for mopping up operations against the Communists. the KMT government army took on the entire Japanese army all by itself throughout the war.

https://www.japanpolicyforum.jp/archives/diplomacy/pt20160517095311.html

On the contrary, during the Sino-Japanese War, Mao Zedong concentrated his efforts on conspiring with the Japanese army to weaken the KMT forces. He planted communist spies such as Pan Hannian in the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s local agency Maison Iwai and sold KMT military intelligence obtained from the National Government in Chongqing through the KMT-CPC Cooperation to the Japanese at a high price, creating an environment in which it was easy for the Japanese military to deal blows to the KMT forces.

The Soviets in Manchuria gave support to Chiang. It's was Chiang's incompetence tat lost him the civil war

it is well-known that the Soviets gave the Chinese Communists the Japanese weapons and USA lend-lease aid weapons in Manchuria. the Soviet army controlled Dailan city, the CCP ran the city government and had a munitions factory there. the Dailan munitions factory supplied the CCP the weapons and ammunition for the war in Manchuria and China proper. Chiang lost the civil war because of many reasons. the circumstances were against him and difficult to overcome like the Soviet Union and George Marshall interventions which advantaged the Communists.

Chiang himself became incompetent if not his army would not have lost the civil war. N it was the Japanese that saved the commies..if the Japanese invaded later. The commies would have been wiped out. But Chiang would have still won if he did his job..trained n look after his army. Governed his part of ah tiong land properly. Which he did not do. That why the commies won
